A dark tale of an invasive serpent evangelist and his incursion into a land in which he does not belong
lyrics
Father Viper walked into the bar
Ordered a drink
Lit a cigar
Spoke of such things as we’d never heard
While I sat in the corner afraid to stir
As he spoke
Forked tongue all aquiver
Of fire from the sky and bodies in the river
I felt a loathing I couldn’t contain
Visceral revulsion
Hard to explain
Mycellum the barman had a glint in his eye
Old Chantarelle let out a sigh
The preacher’s words were crowding the room
An oppressive warning of impending doom
My hands were shaking
My eyes roved the walls
Looking for anything to break my fall
The lights in the ceiling began to glow red
Violent images flashed in my head
Father Viper turned on his stool
Looked right at me
The arrogant fool
His reptile gaze locked onto mine
I got to my feet
Picked up my stein
And launched it full force right at that smile
Mount full of fangs dripping venom and bile
It struck the preacher square in the face
His head burst in two
An instant of grace
His blood bathed the walls and pooled on the floor
I laughed to myself and walked out the door
Father Viper thought to convert us
But we know our minds
You can’t pervert us
